Wednesday - Orange Light

ninanevermoreThis morning the red light was green as I approached. Excited at the idea of getting through this intersection with nothing bizarre happening, I hit the gas. As soon as the Powers That Be saw me coming, they changed the light to yellow.
If the laws of the universe would have allowed them to go strait to red, I know they would have done it. But there are certain things that must happen for the universe at large to maintain order: day must follow night, autumn must follow summer, Friday must follow Thursday, men have to fall asleep right after sex at the point when you want to pour out your soul to them...and a yellow light must precede a red light.
Lucky me.
Even as I reached the light and entered the intersection, the light began to change. I could see it happening in slow motion. Yeeeeeelllllllllowwwwwwrrrrrrrrreeeedddd. Ah, but I was through the intersection by the crucial moment.
In other words, nothing to report today.
Thank God.
