Thursday - Dialog on Duckhood
Jun. 29th, 2006 03:42 pmToday on my drive into work, I was thinking about an incident with my year and a half old son this last Friday. I was channel surfing on the TV and stopped to watch "America's Funniest Home Videos," which was showing a clip of a toddler being interviewed by his mother.
"How old are you?" the mother's voice asked.
"Three," the little boy replied, and held up three fingers to show her.
"And what will you be on your next birthday?" his mother asked.
He looked strait at the camera and replied, very seriously and without hesitation, "A duck."
Being a duck myself when I am spending time in cyberspace, I started laughing. My son, who was watching the TV very intently, turned to look at me with a look that was both perplexed and irritated.
"What's so funny?" his face seemed to ask, "That sounded like a very reasonable answer to me!"
