ninanevermoreToday at the stoplight, I noticed that everyone in the cars around seemed to be old. I mean really, really old. Old to the point that I was wondering if they really should still be driving. Not that there's anything wrong with being old, but when the Grim Reaper is riding shotgun with you, I'm not sure I want you on the same freeway as I am.
I'm prejudiced that way. I'm not talking people in their seventies here, everywhere I looked on my drive in, there were people who were at least in their 80's. And they like those big honking cars that are like boats, that will take out anyone in their paths should the Grim Reaper cull them while they are driving.
I glanced over at the Carney, and he was laughing as best he could with the cigarette still clenched in his teeth. The son of a bitch could read my thoughts. He took the cig out and mouthed a word to me before putting it back in.
The word he mouthed was, "BONUS!"
Wouldn't you know that the Angel of Death would have a twisted sense of humor?
