Thursday – Mixed Blessing

I’ve heard it said that only the good die young. It has occurred to me that this is a mixed blessing in my case. Since this rule protects the mediocre as well as it truly evil, I’m still here and in pretty good health. On the other hand, this leaves me surrounded with a lot of mediocre and bad people who also don’t seem to be going anywhere soon.

My great grandmother died at 92, my mom in her early 50, her mom (who was a drunk and abusive) somewhere in her mid 40's. My dad was 43, his dad young too but I'm not sure how young, and his mom in her 70's. From what I can remember everyone was either mediocre or bad. I'm definitely mediocre. Don't know where that saying will end up leaving me either. Lol

Sometimes the bad and mediocre die young, too. After all, you need exceptions ot make a rule. But mostly it's the people you want around the longest who take an early exit.

I'm the most mediocre person I know. When it comes to mediocrity, I do it better than anyone I know. It's the one thing I'm really really good at. :D
