Tuesday - The Proposition
Aug. 2nd, 2005 11:40 amSitting at the stop light today, the Grim Reaper actually walked over to my car, tapped on the window, and asked if I'd like to have a drink with him sometime. Talk about not knowing how to respond.
On one hand, it would be a great opportunity to find out how his business works and maybe put in a good word for a few people. On the other hand, have a drink with the Grim Reaper just looks bad. On the other hand (or the first hand again, I'm out of hands here), do I really want to piss the Grim Reaper off by turning him down? On the other hand, I'm a married woman, so appearances must be kept up. So I held up my left hand and showed him the wedding ring, and said my husband might not like it. He looked sad, sighed, said he understood, and walked off.
At least he didn't look angry.
