I still can't understand how the fundamentalist movement has gotten so huge in this country. I just don't get the appeal. I don't know. And, you're right about the early '90s- I can clearly remember when that whole phenomenon was totally unheard-of. It's like it sprung up overnight...
My neighbors' kids would unmercifully bologna/soap/TP any house that dared to give them Chick tracts in place of candy.
