Today on my drive into work, I was thinking about the fact that due to me having to do 5 days worth of work into 2.5 days so I can fly out to California, where I will put in one 13 hour day and one partial day that will start way too early and end with me back in the airport to return to Texas around midnight, I won't be on Live Journal pretty much at all. I don't even have time to write what I'm writing right now. But, even though I've skipped lunch today, I still get 2 paid 15 minute breaks, according to the Federal government. With that in mind, I'm taking 5 minutes of one now.
My first trip to California and what will I see? Hollywood? Disney Land? The Napa Valley? Beautiful beaches? No. I will see a funeral home and a cemetery - one of The Corporations more impressive acquisitions, or so I'm told - and that's it. I will also get to hang around the Long Beach Airport and a chain hotel that will no doubt look exactly like a branch of the same chain here in Houston.
Maybe I'll have a funny story about a hilarious encounter with the Office of Homeland Security or sharing an airplane with someone really obnoxious to write about when I get back. I'm hoping I don't, though.
See y'all next week.
