Friday - Asleep at the Wheel
Jun. 24th, 2005 11:21 amToday the stop light, I noticed that all of the other drivers had drifted off to sleep. Had I been at the front of my lane, this would not have bothered me at all. But I was 3 cars back, running late for work, and craving a fresh can of diet Coke.
I glanced over at the Ferris Wheel. The Carney was chuckling. This made me nervous. I began hoping that the other drivers weren't dead. Then I would never get to work, or get my diet Coke.
Finally, the light changed. As is by magic, the other drivers woke up and began pulling forward. They began pulling forward SLOWLY, which made me nuts. Three cars back, and I almost missed the green light. Ok, I admit it, I did miss the green light. I ran the red light.
