I read Stephen King's book, "On Writing" and I know he was a teacher at least when he started to write "Carrie." I thought he stayed a teacher until he sold "Carrie."

I recommend that book, BTW.

Yet I am sure his wife probably worked too. I know he writes in "On Writing" that his wife supported him spending many hours on his writing, which cut into their free time together.

I do love your resume. I wish you could get a job like that. I wish you would write a book period, just for me:)to read, if no one else:) (though I know many others would)

I especially love your objective:

To work and play with words on a daily basis. To dance with words. To wrap words around me. To dive into language, delve into paragraphs, grapple with grammar, and muse with the muse for a living.

I too was a Journalism major (back before kids) but now I realize I better be a teacher, am too old to break into Journalism, I think. But I wish I could be more like your resume and just write. What a life, eh?

Have you ever thought of doing NaNoWriMo?

In Stephen King's "On Writing" he writes how a lot of it is plain hard work. Sending it out, getting rejected, sending it out again and again and again.

I believe you have it in you, your writing is really great. But, as I recall he had to in his book, you probably have to work WHILE you follow yor dream:( It's too bad. I wish you could get a writing fellowship or something and write instead:) I never get enough of your writing:)
