Tuesday - The President in My Stocking

Unlike so many people I hear about, I don't stay up all night to watch election results.

Election day is like Christmas Eve for me. I put on my best pajamas, say a little prayer, and go to bed nice and early, hoping that since I've been good this year I will be rewarded.

When I wake up, I run to the living room and see if I got what I wanted. If I do, then I'm filled with goodwill and cheer, and I will spend the day being pleasant toward everyone I meet.

If I don't, at least I have on nice jammies.

I admire people like you, those who can appreciate a surprise. You probably take your time when unwrapping presents at Christmas.

Either way, we both got our gift. I think I'm going to buy a box full of "O - The President" bumper-stickers. Do you want one?

You're right, I don't shake my presents sitting under the tree or try to guess what they are. I like to savor experiences.

When I saw he had Pennsylvania, I went to bed confident I would wake up happy. I knew what the headline would be before I even opened my morning paper (yes, I'm old school and I read the newspaper in the morning). I felt it.

Did you notice (perhaps through the hole in your roof before the crew showed up to fix it) that the sun was shining a littler brighter today? Or that the air smelled a little sweeter? The birds weren't just singing in the trees, they were singing The Star Spangled Banner (mocking birds are so talented sometimes!).

Sure, I'll take a sticker. I'll put put it in between the Obama 08 sticker and the Independents for Obama sticker I've already got. :D

As a matter of fact, the sky was so beautiful today that I played hooky this afternoon and took a motorcycle ride down to League City. Hopefully the next 4 years will be filled with many days like this one.
