Thursday - Business is Booming
Jul. 7th, 2005 10:48 amToday, as I drove past the ferris wheel, I noticed the Carney was laughing. He loves it when business is good, and what a summer it's been for him. Children drowning, a war (1,748+; collateral damage numbers withheld from the public, thank you), exploding trains and buses - business is booming, at least as far as those exiting the ride.
The more crowded the world becomes, the more of us have to die. It makes sense. And the more reasons we find to hate each other, the more of us who must die needlessly before our time.
Spilling the blood of innocents seems to a popular pastime among religious and political extremists, but that has always been the case. I hope that all 70 of the virgins they get in the afterlife are ugly and prone to nagging...
The Carney, though, doesn't care one way or the other. Business is good, and that's all he is concerned with.
I still want to take up the matter of my lawn with him (it rained everywhere but my subdivision yesterday, don't tell me this isn't personal), but he seemed to have his hands full this morning, so it wasn't a good time.
